The Traubensaal in this 19C inn is a wonderful period dining room. Wood panelling, painted ceilings and walls, elegant chandeliers and lovely herringbone flooring create a charming atmosphere. The menu is determined by the seasons, and the dishes are prepared using top-notch ingredients that are locally sourced whenever possible. Standouts include the tartare of Arctic char from Brüggli-Forellen fish farm in Sattel with tartlet, pumpkin, dill cream and lemon from Thurgau, or Alpine pike-perch from Susten with beurre blanc, mashed potatoes and leek. The fabulous wine list boasts one of the largest Champagne selections in Switzerland – astute recommendations are provided by the friendly and attentive waitstaff. In addition to the Traubensaal, there is the Braustube, the Gartenzimmer and an inviting garden terrace. A stylish small boutique hotel is also part of the property.
