Set in a charming house on the edge of the village beside renowned wine estate Weingut Neumeister, this charming restaurant is run with great dedication by the Mandl couple: talented chef Christoph Mandl and cordial host and knowledgeable sommelier Ruth. The cooking is pleasingly focused and carefully considered, with a distinctive personal style. Classically based dishes such as exceptionally fresh Bouchot mussels with a wonderfully intense foamed vermouth broth put the produce centre stage and showcase it with plenty of flavour. Choose from the five- to seven-course seasonal menu or order à la carte. Indoors there is a cosy atmosphere; outside in summer, the shady terrace with its superb panoramic views over the region invites you to slow down and spend a few relaxing hours. Another plus is that the restaurant opens for lunch at weekends. There are also a few hotel rooms for those wishing to stay overnight.
