The Fondation Luma aims to support innovative and independent artists, from the visual arts to multimedia and dance, without imposing boundaries between disciplines. Since 2013, the Foundation has gradually taken over the Parc des Ateliers, a vast 7-hectare site previously occupied by former SNCF workshops that have now been rehabilitated. The centrepiece of the site, the Tour Luma, is the work of the architect Frank O. Gehry, whose credits include the Guggenheim in Bilbao and the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
