The panoramic road follows the Steinach valley before heading into Fichtelgebirge nature park, the last stretch of fir-covered mountains before the plains of the Czech Republic. Above Fleckl, a cable-car leads to Ochsenkopf (1 024m), one of the highest peaks of this range, which is topped by a television mast.
