La Rhune (in Basque, larrun translates as "good pastureland") is regarded as the symbol of the French Basque country. From its mountain summit (900m), marking the border between France and Spain, enjoy a superb view of the Atlantic, the forests of Les Landes, the Basque Pyrenees and, to the south, the Bidassoa valley. Visitors can reach the top via a footpath or by a narrow rack railway dating back to 1924.
