St Charles Borromeo Church
Michelin Gids
Religieus monument
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
With its two steeples and high façade dominated by a large pediment, this edifice (1826-1830) exemplifies the influence of English Palladianism on the religious architecture of Quebec. The focal point of the interior is the imposing triumphal arch adorning the flat apse. Salvaged from an earlier church erected on this site, two statues (1742) by Pierre-Noël Levasseur stand in lateral niches. Also worth noting are works by François Ranvoyzé, Louis Jobin, Charles Vézina and Paul Lambert.
