The only such shopping arcades in the world, they run along the town centre above street level. The design means you are sheltered as you walk around, whatever the weather, and can look at the shop windows on one side and the bustle of the road on the other. They date back to the 13C. The Grosvenor Shopping Centre, the largest arcade in the Rows, is particularly worth seeing.
