Hemmed in by a crater of peaks over 2000m/6500ft high, this lake is one of the jewels of this mountainscape. Located in the upper valley of the Restonica, at an altitude of 1,930m/6,330ft, it is frozen eight months out of twelve. It is nonetheless one of the most popular sites in the region. From the sheepfolds of Grotelle, the path passes first by Lake Melo and then Lake Capitello.
