Overlooking the town from the southeast is a two-room log cabin with moose antlers over the door. Here Robert Service wrote his only novel, The Trail of Ninety-Eight, and his last Yukon verses, Songs of a Rolling Stone. Though he arrived in Dawson shortly after the Gold Rush, his poetry, Songs of a Sourdough in particular, vividly recreates the atmosphere of the times.
