The port is sheltered by a sea wall running from the beach to the mouth of the River Touques. The complex includes a tidal basin, a wet dock and another on the foreshore, accessed by a lock. It is lined with marinas, hotels, shopping centres and the harbour master's offices. Its deep channel allows boats access for 8hr per tide, i.e. 16hr per day.
