This collection of art from the Far East was founded in 1909 and is the oldest of its kind in Germany. Be sure to see the Chinese archaic bronzes (16C-12C BC), the Buddhist sculptures and the paintings from China and Japan (6C-16C). The Japanese screens decorated with scenes from annual festivities are also a pleasure to behold. The Japanese garden was designed by Masayuki Nagare.
