The Château de Commarque is a remarkable fortified structure set in the middle of nowhere, amidst outstanding scenery. The romantic ruins of this "forgotten fortress" come into view after a short walk through the forest. The visit starts at the bottom of the site at its troglodytic dwellings, and then continues through the remains of a fortified village (chapel, mansions, etc). Don't miss the platform of the keep which, at a height of 34m, boasts fine views of the valley and the Château de Laussel.
