From the church of St Croix, follow the yellow signs to Les Praises. Head right and continue towards the Avattes chalet-restaurant. Behind the chalet, join the crest path; note the peace stone, engraved with symbols of every religion. Beyond, the Chasseron mast is the point from where a huge panorama unfurls over the Alps, Jura and Lake Neuchâtel. Head back along the crest path then follow the signs for La Merlaz. Just before the Le Sollier chalet, turn left towards La Casba and return to Les Praises.
