A ride in a lancha is an enjoyable way to sail on vast Malpaso Lake (about 280km2) northwest of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. many hamlets emerge from the waters, which are actually on the high hillsides that were not totally flooded when the dam was built on the Río Grijalva.
