Masoala, the largest national park on the island covering a protected area extending across 230 000ha, boasts several Malagasy ecosystems, with landscapes such as rainforest, mangroves, sea, marshland and coral reefs. This exceptional biodiversity includes humpback whales, as well as the inevitable lemurs.
