This blissful natural oasis is home to five tiny sandy beaches, surrounded by thick, sweet-scented gorse and moors. The largest, Cala Liberotto, is wedged between pink granite rocks (parking and tourist facilities). There are two ponds to the north. The emerald green water of Stagno Su Curcurica (38ha) is heaven for herons, pink flamingos and cormorants. The smaller Berchidda pond (6ha), whose eastern shore is bordered by a sandy beach, is rich in eels and mullet.
