This neo-Classical structure built from sandstone stands at the heart of the Château de Rambouillet's grounds and was constructed in 1785 for Marie-Antoinette who got bored very easily at Rambouillet. It comprises two side pavilions: the first was the dairy (the Sèvres porcelain vases used by visitors have since disappeared) which opened to the rear to an artificial cave adorned with a marble sculpture representing a nymph and the goat Amalthea.
