The street owes its name to the city's first stock exchange, which used to stand here in the heart of the merchant quarter. In the 15C Pierre Del Fau built his house with a magnificent 24m tower at no 20, in the hope of being appointed public magistrate for Toulouse - which never happened, but the tower with its five bay windows is still standing. At no 15 is the impressive 18C Hôtel de Nupces.
