Mention Lapland and the images that immediately come to mind are the Northern Lights, midnight sun, reindeer and huskies. Largely situated within the province of Finnmark, Norwegian Lapland boasts superb vast landscapes dotted with sparse but beautiful vegetation. The region is inhabited by the Sami (once known as the Lapps), a nomadic people who have now become more sedentary, and whose fascinating history, traditional costumes and way of life add to any visit to the region.
