Lac d'Aydat, a cool oasis, is the largest natural lake in Auvergne. This peaceful stretch of water with steep shores is surrounded by a magnificent wooded area fanning out around it. Clermont-Ferrand residents love to come and swim, sail or hike, walk its shores in search of mushrooms, or climb the Montagne de la Serre to see migratory birds in flight. The D 788, between Veyreras and Fohet, commands the most beautiful views of the lake and the peaks of the Monts Dôme.
