The Bjäre peninsula is home to no less than eight nature reserves, a sign of the importance of nature in the area, and also to the sheer cliffs of Hovs Hallar. Frequently used in movies, they featured in Ingmar Bergman's Seventh Seal among others, probably because of the dramatic, stark beauty of the jagged rocks, rugged coastline and steep cliffs. A path winds through the moors to the beach.
