The understated Neoclassical building belonged to Francesco Melzi d'Eril, Grand chancellor of the Italian kingdom, who also served under Napoleon, buried in the gardens. The delightful lakeside park inspired Franz Liszt during his stay at Bellagio in 1837. Look out for the small Neoclassical chapel to the south.
