This was the first district built on Potsdamer Platz. In the years between 1994 and 1998, this area saw the growth of nearly 20 buildings. Renzo Piano designed a maze of small interlocking streets and squares, favouring low-rise buildings in earthy colours. The district has only two towers: a triangular one whose façade alternates between glass and terracotta, and a brick one whose roof has a view over the square.
