Beschrijving
Fully equal to the world's foremost museums, this venue contains remarkable works of art that span eight centuries, from Gothic to contemporary art. The Italian Renaissance masters and Bernese primitives rub shoulders with Impressionists and Cubists. A major section is devoted to Bernese artists from the Late Gothic period to 19C Realism. Modern art is notably represented by Swiss artists of the likes of Meret Oppenheim, Franz Gertsch and Markus Raetz.
