Founded in 1931, the Boise Art Museum is the only AAM accredited art museum in the state of Idaho. Once the Boise Gallery of Art, the museum expanded in the 1980s to achieve its museum status. Another expansion in 1997 expanded its space to 34,800sqft, with space for an impressive 20th century American art collection and innovative traveling exhibitions.
