You can reach this plateau dominating the valley between Bolzano and Ponte Gardena by car from Bolzano North or, more romantically, by a little electric train running between Maria Assunta and Collalbo. Facing the Dolomites, the plateau is rich in rain pillars (known here as "Earth pyramids") produced by erosion.
