Beschrijving

Copp's Hill Burying Ground is home to the graves of some of Boston's most prominent families, among whom the Mather family: Increase (minister and Harvard president), Cotton (clergyman and writer), and his son Samuel. The Mather plots are located in the northeast corner of the cemetery near the Charter Street gate. Hundreds of Afro-Americans who lived in North End in the 18C are also buried here.
