It was built from 1872 to 1876 by a French company using the plans by Ernest Gouin. It is made up by two arms joined together at the height of Marguerite Isle at an angle of 150°. The statues of the pillars are attributed to the Thabart Paris workshop. Superb view over the Danube spanned by the bridge of the Chains: to the right, the Royal castle of Buda and the Church of Mathias, to the left, Pest and the Parliament.
