Burgos museum is divided into two sections. The prehistory and archaeology section contains objects from the province of Burgos that date back from prehistory to the Visigothic period, with some fine Early Christian sarcophagi. The fine arts section contains local works of art from the 9C onwards. Several objects attract the eye: an ivory Hispanic-Arabic chest, the urn of Saint Dominic, the tomb of Juan de Padilla and the recumbent statue of Doña Maria Manuel.
