The façade of Miraflores Charterhouse is only slightly brightened by the pinnacles of the buttresses and the two coats of arms of its founders. The building is very austere in contrast to its opulent interior decoration, from the single nave with its elegant golden key vault, and especially the exceptional sculpted chancel, carved in the late 15C by Gil de Siloé. It also boasts a polychrome wooden altarpiece, a white marble royal mausoleum and an ornate funereal recess that houses the tomb of Crown Prince Alfonso.
