Liwan Museum offers a convincing immersion into what was a wealthy residence during the colonial era (late 19C/early 20C) before the Communist revolution. Of particular interest are the Manchu-style windows, which are reminiscent of stained glass with their different colours and motifs. An oil lamp, record player and the bedroom furniture are all evidence of the western origins of the inhabitants, while other objects in the kitchen are more Cantonese in style.
