Beschrijving

Built in the 11C under the aegis of the abbot of Montecassino, Desiderius, this is one of Campagna's most beautiful monuments from the Middle Ages and despite the rather rudimentary architectural design, it contains one of the Italy's finest Romanesque pictorial cycles of frescoes of biblical scenes, which cover almost the whole of the basilica's interior.
