Beschrijving
This magnificent Romanesque building was started in the mid-11C, but most of it dates from the 12C. Its two façade towers were reworked in the 19C and it has an octagonal lantern tower on the transept crossing. The tympanum over the west door is a masterpiece of Romanesque sculpture, featuring the Last Judgement with 124 figures in yellow limestone. It is best seen at sunset. Inside, be sure to see the stained-glass windows by Pierre Soulages and the extraordinary treasure.
