Beschrijving

Founded in 1538, the Reformed college owes its current Classical aspect to reconstruction work carried out in the 19C. The college is now home to a museum devoted to its history. On display are, among others, a fine collection of religious artefacts and kopjafa (wooden totems which designate the position of burial places). The oratory, also open to the public, is where the independence of Hungary was proclaimed in 1849. However, the most fascinating part of the museum is the library and its thousands of books.
