Beschrijving

This castle in ruins was built in 1282 by Henry de Lacy, one of the generals of Edward I. The three interlinked 14C towers of the guardhouse, with a similar design to those of Caernarfon Castle, are probably an indication of the influence of the king's master mason, James of St George.
