Short and accessible to all walkers (3km - 2hr-2hr 30min - 219m gradient), La Roche Verre Bouteille Trail offers a wonderful summary of Réunion, especially along the crest of the summit: you feel like you are walking a tightrope between the inhabited world and the untamed world. On one side is the Cirque de Mafate, with its pitons sculpting the landscape; on the other, the village of Dos-d'Âne amid the plantations, with the town of Le Port, the island's economic hub, in the distance.
