Beschrijving
This section of the castle dates from the 15C and houses the royal apartments. The interior was remodelled in 1617 for James VI. The Scottish Crown Jewels are the site's pride and joy. Note the crown encrusted with pearls and precious stones, the sceptre and sword given to James IV by Pope Alexander VI and Pope Julius II, and the Stone of Destiny, said to have been used during the coronation ceremonies of Scotland's monarchs.
