The Art Museum contains a large number of works from the 16C Venetian School, such as an Annunciation by Veronese and a Nativity by Tintoretto, as well as works by Titian. Van Dyck and Rubens are also represented, as are Luca Giordano, Zurbarán, Ribera... Don't miss El Greco's Martyrdom of St Maurice and the Theban Legionary whose originality is said to have so shocked Felipe II. The Architectural Museum outlines the monastery's construction.
