Beschrijving

Clinging to an island in the middle of the Göta, this fortress, built between 1653 and 1670, stood up to the joint attacks of the Danish and Norwegian fleets in 1719, as a result of which Gothenburg was saved. It became a prison in the 18C. Nowadays, marriage ceremonies are held in the small chapel.
