From the gentle banks of Lake Bafa to the hills carpeted in olive groves and lunar landscapes of sandstone rocks, this area is heaven for nature lovers. Dotted around the heart of the village of Kapikiri, the ruins of Heracles can be difficult to pinpoint. The ramparts (287 BCE) are visible to the north, and children play on the agora, while further away is the temple of Athena (3C BCE). The lake is home to nesting pink flamingos and cormorants.
