Focused on Courthouse Square, the historic centre of Huntsville is not lacking in charm, with its terraces that come alive in the evening during the summer months. Its three eastern sub-districts (Twickenham, Old Town and Five Points) provide a fine sample of local architecture from the 1810s to the 1950s. It includes the largest group of antebellum houses in the country, but is also enriched by new buildings, thanks to the city's current economic dynamism.
