This park, laid out between the Port Tower, Maritime museum and the dramatic liner-shaped Hotel Oriental, offers fine views of the landscape. On the eastern side of the park, a portion of the docks destroyed by the terrible earthquake of 17 January 1995 has been voluntarily left unrestored as a reminder of the devastation caused. The site's full beauty is revealed at nightfall when the Maritime museum is lit up in green and the Tower in red, with the port installations glittering in the distance.
