Beschrijving

The Dune du Pilat is the tallest sand dune in Europe. This huge mountain of shifting sand is constantly growing as a result of winds and currents, and in 2019 was around 2.9km long, 616m wide and 106m high. The western side of the dune slopes gently down to the ocean, while the east face dives abruptly towards a huge pine forest, as steep as any black ski run! Take in the stunning panoramic view over the ocean and the forest at sunset... An invigorating walk that should not be missed.
