A path follows the course of the impetuous River Tolerme, which cascades through the rocks. Cross the stream twice via rudimentary wooden bridges; the path then rises sharply, delivering you into a hilly setting. Soon you come across the pilgrimage chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Verdale (15C), which clings to a rocky outcrop. From the chapel there is a gorgeous view of the Gorges du Tolerme and the hills covered with chestnut trees.
