Beschrijving

Built in 1571, the house has one of the finest patrician façades in Lemgo. Inside, a local museum provides information on the town's history and on the witch hunting which took place here between 1583 and 1681, during which 254 people were executed. Part of the museum is dedicated to the history of the Jews in Lemgo and another to the life of the naturalist and explorer Engelbert Kämpfer who was born in the town in 1651.
