Beschrijving
Founded in 1822, it was enriched in the 20C by two local geologists. Whale skeletons and replicas of prehistoric animals, including a sea predator from the Jurassic period, greet you at the entrance. Don't miss the room devoted to stuffed animals. Also look out for the ornithological section, home to 5,000 birds, some of which are extinct. The modern museography exhibits some 100,000 fossils, rocks and minerals dating from -600 million years to the Gallo-Roman era.
