Praktische informatie

Beschrijving

Cornhill is named after the grain market, which was held here in the Middle Ages. The junction between Leadenhall Street and Cornhill was once the centre of London. St Michaels tower (1718-1724), designed by Hawksmoor, is comprised of four levels crowned with pinnacles and balustrades. Inside, tall Tuscan-style columns support the arch designed by Wren. Also of interest are the splendid Venetian stained-glass windows, the pulpit and lectern (19C).
