Beschrijving
Installed on the site of the oldest prison in the country, which was in service from 1144 to 1780, this exhibition presents a historical account of imprisonment and torture, as well as of the houses of ill- repute along the Thames. It was here that, from 1630, those sentenced for having debts were locked away.
