To the west of Kensington, Earl's Court lies between the less exclusive areas of Shepherd's Bush and Hammersmith. Although neither a tourist attraction nor particularly animated, it is a pleasant and convenient base favoured by young travellers. Its streets are lined by Victorian houses, budget hotels and local restaurants, making for a pleasant atmosphere a stone's throw from Holland Park, Kensington Gardens and South Kensington's museums.
