Egyptians believed that death was a stage in a process of rebirth, so it was essential that the body was well preserved to enable the deceased to live in the afterlife. This museum highlights the importance of mummification for ancient Egyptians, as well as the methods used, and includes displays of mummies, the instruments and substances used, and funerary objects.
